Nature, My Sanctuary
About 8 months ago we moved to a bigger city, and I was very grateful for the change. Living in a big city allowed for so many new opportunities including better paying jobs, and more cultural activities. My family and I love to get out and do things, so when we discovered this big park about 15 minutes away from our home we were extremely happy. My husband just decided to google "parks near me" and low and behold this park popped right up. We followed the directions to get there that eventually lead us into a secluded road surrounded by walls of woods. To be in the city and have such a beautiful scenic place so close by just filled my heart with joy.
We are nature people, and in some sense I feel as a people many of us have lost our connection to Gaia, Mother Earth. We build walls, roads, buildings, castles high in the sky that moves us away from our Mother, or very nature. We think of ourselves as separate, and a part from Earth. But we are not. "From dust we were created, and to dust we shall return." We forget our humble nature, we have forgotten our origins, our Mother.
When I am out in nature, I remember all the beautiful and wonderful things that makes me human, and I praise the Earth--the trees, the birds and the bees. I give thanks to the leaves, the waters that flow and all the things that give life to my being. I am reminded of all the peace there is to be found in the oneness of creation. For in the forest of my true nature there are no struggles, no worry, and no fear. The trees do no cry when they are tossed about by the wind; they do not worry when the storm comes. And even when their branches falls and their tree trunks uprooted they do not fear death for they understanding all things return to the Mother and are renewed again.
